Santa Monica: Tree People
The team helped by planting and watering native plants and removing non-native, invasive vegetation. TreePeople has a long history of work in our region’s local mountains and they inspire and support the people of LA to come together to plant and care for trees, harvest the rain, and renew depleted landscapes in order to help restore our local ecosystems. Chicago: Alliance for the Great Lakes and Adopt-a-Beach
The Chicago team helped clean up trash at North Avenue Beach - a summertime hotspot and a hub for tossed trash. Together, they picked up over 30 lbs. of trash discarded on Lake Michigan's shore. The best part of the day was passing people on the bike path and having them thank us for the work we were doing! The Alliance for the Great Lakes works to protect the Great Lakes for today and tomorrow. We involve tens of thousands of people each year in advocacy, volunteering, education, and research to ensure the lakes are healthy and safe for all. New York: Partnerships for Parks
The NY team helped to beautify a neighborhood park through cleaning, painting, weeding and planting. The Partnerships for Parks foundation is dedicated to invigorating and transforming parks into dynamic, vibrant centers of urban life through sports, arts, community building and education programs for all New Yorkers. Their philosophy is “thriving parks mean thriving communities”. To donate or learn more about getting involved.https://cityparksfoundation.org/
